40 Mercer Residences
New York, NY
For years the SoHo neighborhood in downtown Manhattan has been recognized as the epitome of modern chic – and construction-wary. So a new condo tower rising in the historic neighborhood’s skyline was a rare event indeed – a progressive design had to be enveloped in a historically rich façade. Bucking the trend of unobtrusive metal frames, 40 Mercer thick frames of extruded aluminum, resembling I-beams with the channels facing up, with all custom-extrusions and a most unique curtain wall.
